Morning Zazen Reflection

Morning virtual Zazen has been a big help to my practice during this time. I had not had a solid daily sitting routine since before my kids were born. Now, with the support of the sangha, the morning sit has once again become part of my life. Even though I don’t find the virtual format very connective or inspiring, it does offer that extra little push to stick to the sitting routine rather than follow the mood of my mind on any given day. I usually don’t have my video turned on since I am regularly interrupted by the kids who want to come “meditate” with me (sit on my lap, squirm around and ring the bell a few times).

But it is fun to see that even the kids feel a little more connection to the Zen Center when they see Nyoze and Kashin sitting on the screen. They are still thinking about the candy, sweets and balloons they might get next time we come for the Buddha’s Birthday celebration! Thanks to everyone who is helping to keep the practices as strong as possible during these times!
