Student talk will be given by Genzen (現前) Ed Cadman, senior student of Kwong-roshi and ordained priest, following 10:30 am zazen. In 2006, Genzen became a member of SMZC and a student of Kwong-roshi. Usually every year thereafter, Genzen, a resident of Seattle, would travel to SMZC to attend the Winter Ango in February and the Rohatsu Sesshin in December. In February 2019, he served as Shuso (head student) for the Winter Ango. In February 2020, he was ordained along with Kanzenchi Peter Pocock, Jibun Jesse Brunette, and Totai Michał Czernuszczykj.

On-Site Attendance Limited to 14 Registrations: We are open to the fully-vaccinated public with limited Zendo capacity. Sign our covid waiver (first time only). Free pre-registration is required to attend Saturday Community.

We Are Just a Tiny Speck of Big Being & The Sandokai (Page 177–191)

 

An opportunity to explore the fundamental teachings of Buddhism and build a foundation for daily practice through discussions on the book "Branching Streams Flow in the Darkness: Zen Talks on the Sandokai" by Shunryu Suzuki-roshi. This 12-week course occurs every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm PST.

 

$12/week. Register to attend online or on-site. On-site attendance limited to 10 registrations.

Daily Meditation Schedule

You are welcome to sit one period of zazen as your schedule permits. Participate in the daily schedule as much as you are able. Continuous daily practice helps strengthen your resolve. If attending partially, please leave or enter during kinhin (walking meditation). Download daily sutras to partake in the service.
