Hoitsu Suzuki-roshi is the Dharma heir of his late father, Shunryu Suzuki-roshi, and held the position of tanto and godo at Eiheiji, the head of Soto Zen training monastery. He has been the abbot of Rinso-in temple in Yaizu City, Shizuoka, Japan since 1966. After his father’s death, he gave Dharma transmission to Jakusho Kwong-roshi in 1978.
