Join us for Summer Ango Sesshin Talk by Shuso Shoshin Brynjar Kristinsson and Jakusho Kwong-roshi this Saturday. 3:30–4:30am Sesshin Talk following 3:00–3:30pm Zazen. Open to the public.

 

About Shuso

Shoshin Brynjar Kristinsson first attended a introductory course at Nátthagi Zen Center in Iceland in 2013. He received Jukai from Kwong-roshi in 2016 and was given the Dharma name Shoshin, beginners mind. Shoshin has served the Icelandic Sangha in various practice positions and been a member of the board of directors. He has also translated Kwong-roshi's book No Beginning, No End: The Intimate Heart of Zen into Icelandic. Brynjar works and studies as a carpenter and lives with his partner and their two daughters in Reykjavik, where they divide their time between the city and their cottage by a small pond.

Join us for Summer Ango - Shuso Talk by Shuso Shoshin (初心) Brynjar Kristinsson this Saturday. 11:00–11:45am Shuso Talk following 10:30–11:00am Zazen. Open to the public.

 

  • There will be NO meditation instruction from 9:00 to 10:00 am during the ango.

  • If you live within driving distance, please register to attend on site.

  • Oryoki lunch will be provided for ango participants only.

  • Zen Dust Store will be open 1:00 - 2:00 pm (time changed during the ango)

EVERYDAY: Join Us for Zazen During Summer Practice Period

Daily zazen periods are open to the public (see schedule)!

SMZC's Summer Practice Period has began last Saturday. Drop-ins are welcome: Come & join us in practice. If you live within driving distance, come sit in the zendo. Please support our practice community by donating to the Summer Practice Period.

 

To attend all Summer Ango events on site or online, register via the Summer Practice Period page. Please email your commitment form to office@smzc.org. and meet with Shuso in person or on zoom to support your practice. Space is limited and filling up fast!
